These are the rules for using Tattoistic. Reading the site means you accept them. If you do not, the fix is simple: close the tab.
Who this site is for
Anyone can read it. But a large part of what gets covered here involves procedures with legal age limits, and tattoos and piercings are not something a minor should be arranging on the strength of a blog post. If you are under 18, read for the ideas and talk to a parent or guardian about anything else.
What belongs to whom
The words, the layout, the design and the site name belong to Tattoistic. The photographs mostly do not.
Photographs of tattoos, nails and hair on this site are the work of the artists who made them, and where those artists are known they are credited by name or by handle in the post. Credit is given because it is owed, not as a favour.
If it is your work
If you made something that appears here and you want the credit changed, or you want the photo taken down altogether, email tattoistic@gmail.com and say so. You do not need to prove ownership, you do not need to send a legal notice, and you do not need to be polite about it. It will be corrected or removed, and the usual turnaround is same day.
That is the fast route. The formal route also exists: a takedown notice under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, sent to the same address, containing the material complained of, where it appears, your contact details, a statement that you believe in good faith the use is unauthorised, and a statement under penalty of perjury that you are the owner or authorised to act for them.
What you may do with the content
Pin it. Pinning an image with the link back to the post is exactly what this site is built for.
Share it. Link to a post anywhere you like, quote a paragraph or two with a credit and a link, or send it to a friend.
Print it for your own use, or take it into a studio on your phone to show somebody what you mean.
What you may not do
Republish a whole post somewhere else, with or without a credit. Copy the photographs onto another site, gallery or feed as though they were yours. Strip the credits off anything. Run automated scrapers, crawlers or bulk downloaders against the site. Feed the content into a machine learning or generative AI system for training, fine tuning or retrieval, which is not permitted at any scale. Rebuild the site’s design as your own. Use anything here in a way that suggests an artist or a studio endorsed you when they did not.
Comments and anything you send in
If comments are open, keep them civil. Off topic promotion, abuse, spam and anything unlawful get deleted, and repeat offenders get blocked, without notice and without a discussion.
If you send in a photo, a tip or a correction, you are confirming it is yours to send and you are giving permission to publish it here with a credit. You keep ownership of it. You can ask for it to be pulled later.
Money
Some links on this site are affiliate links, which means a small commission may be earned if you buy through one, at no extra cost to you. Some posts may be sponsored, and where that is the case it is labelled in the post itself. None of it changes what gets recommended. See the Disclaimer for the full position.
Links going out
Links to studios, artists, shops and other sites are there because they are useful. Once you follow one you are on somebody else’s site, under their terms and their privacy policy, and what happens there is not something this site controls or answers for.
The limits of what is promised
Everything here is provided as it is. No promise is made that the site will always be available, that every fact is current, or that following anything published here will produce a particular result. See the Disclaimer, which forms part of these terms.
To the fullest extent the law allows, Tattoistic is not liable for any loss, injury, cost or damage arising from your use of this site or from anything you decided to do after reading it. Some jurisdictions do not allow limits like that, so where you live it may not fully apply.
If a claim is brought against this site because of something you did, such as posting content that was not yours to post, you agree to cover the resulting costs.
Which law applies
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which the site owner resides, without regard to conflict of law rules.
Changes
These terms can change. The current version is always the one on this page, and the last updated date at the top tells you when it moved. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the new version.
